Jim Susman
Jim Susman, the CEO and the "S" in STG Design, is one of Austin’s most influential designers and architects behind such major city landmarks as Block 185 – "The Google Sail Building". This iconic full block building, together with our nearby tower, The Independent, has more beautifully defined the west downtown Austin skyline than any others' work. Additional projects include the Seaholm Power Plant redevelopment, Oracle campus, The Thinkery, Lower Colorado River Authority headquarters complex, and the Governor’s Mansion.
Jim was awarded the Medal for Lifetime Achievement from Texas Society of Architects and is Chair-elect for the UT School of Architecture Advisory Council. Jim is additionally a Board Member at both the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy and the Downtown Austin Alliance for which he chairs the "Built Environment" committee. Beyond his architectural work, Jim is actively shaping Austin’s urban future, particularly in affordable housing and water conservation.
With a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas and a Master of Design Studies from Harvard University, he continues to push for sustainable urban growth and forward-thinking design solutions in Austin.
